Mud and Pigs’ Feet

This morning I received an email from our Miami-based photographer Josh Ritchie, pointing me to his collection of photographs of the annual Redneck Games in East Dublin, GA. (The website declares that the event is “more fun than indoor plumbing.”)
I was far too impressed not to share these images with you.
First is a messy and possibly illegal bacchanalian celebration in a big puddle of mud. The mud activity seems to be representative of the spirit of the whole event.
This man has just pulled a pig’s foot out of a tub of water using only his teeth. He is rightfully proud. According to the UK Telegraph, if he eats the pig’s foot, he will reduce wrinkles and preserve the youthful beauty of his skin.
I have no idea what this guy’s story is.
