Creating Eric Millette’s New Print Portfolio

Tuesday October 12th, 2010

San Francisco photographer Eric Millette had gone years without a printed book, relying on his website and mailers to promote himself. When we asked him to participate in our San Francisco portfolio review last month, Eric was interested but did not have time to build a book himself. Eric decided to have us design, edit, and print the whole thing after seeing samples of our work.

Our photo editor Sean Stone asked for up to 600 photographs to work with. Eric provided him with 200, and Sean edited that down to a tight collection of 36 images, focusing on Eric’s people photography.

Sean also suggested a number of binding and paper options, and Eric went with a Lost Luggage book with 11×14″ pre-drilled, scored, double-sided matte paper, printed full-bleed on our 17×22″ inkjet printer.

Eric was very pleased with the results, and his book received positive feedback. He’s now decided to order a second book from us. You can test-drive Eric’s portfolio here.
