To create a memorable promotional piece that really stands out, a photographer needs a coherent group of images, presented in a thoughtful manner. Beyond selecting marketable images, I try to find the best presentation to suit every photographer’s work. Whether choosing a web template, book cover, or card stock, the materials and presentation I choose are meant to compliment the photographer’s personality and style.

Recent Projects

In hindsight, Dom Romney‘s portfolio might have gotten a bit out of hand, but this can happen when an enthusiastic photographer is willing to entertain pretty much any idea I throw their way. What started out as a simple portfolio edit is now a portfolio/leave behind/mailer/powerhouse. Dom has been doing quite well for himself, keeping steadily busy with editorial clients like Motorsport and Fast Car. He also recently took home his second Renault MSA young motorsport photographer of the year award. To keep the momentum going after a good year, Dom wanted to start 2012 off with a new portfolio that would really wow prospective clients. Naturally, he came to us.

Laura Siebert is a kids lifestyle/fashion photographer based in Denver. Her beautifully lit work has an upbeat, feminine quality that made Sean lean to a more dressy presentation than previous projects. Each layout were made to have a more designed look. Sean printed on single-sided luster paper, each page was creased to a French fold page. This was a labor intensive process, but really enhanced Laura's portfolio and compliments her style.

This was a fun one! Roger Snider has a very niche specialty: big rig trucks. This called for a unique presentation that said "big rig" all over it. Roger and Sean agreed from the beginning that bigger would be better. Sean then had the idea of tricking out the 11"x17" aluminum book covers with custom paint to match Roger's subjects. Roger was enthusiastic. "That idea of painting the book is so rad. You rock! And the low price to boot! Man I feel great about this! Thanks for kicking ass and being creative and clever!" Thanks Roger!

Dana Hoff wanted a cost effective way to create two new portfolios, one for him and one for us. I recommended we go with an on demand printed book, from Adorama. I kept things simple and only included his architectural work, setting aside his very nice food for the sake of a cohesive portfolio. Adorama's lay flat design and seamless gutters make this vertically oriented book a terrific option for an architecture book.

Yadid first contacted me for assistance with a print portfolio. He’d been living without one (if you could call that living) for quite a while, and wanted two copies—one for us to keep and one for him. I started sorting through the work and seeking to strike a nice balance of portraiture, photojournalism, and food. Food is of course an important part of travel shooting, but it’s also a passion for Yadid’s.
