No weird backstory on the name; it was his mother's maiden name. Went to boarding school in TN. Received an appointment to a naval academy, but opted for ASU. Got into the bar industry after that and made it big (met his wife and the guy that got him into photography). The rest is history.

Moved around a lot growing up: North Carolina, then Virginia, Florida, Hawaii and finally Michigan. Used to breakdance at art fairs. Now he loves to wakeboard; goes out with his wife as much as possible. Being a father to his 15 month old daughter is the best thing that's happened to him.

Born in Poland. Has a degree in Oriental philology. Spends several months a year away from home shooting in various countries (just came back from Ladakh in northern India). Spare time spent hanging out in medieval cathedrals. Lives with his wife and their two children in Krakow.

He's quite the adventurer; used to sail competitively around the world from age 11 to his late twenties. Graduated as a second lieutenant from obligatory military school in Brazil. Backpacked across Europe for 10 months. Even took part in a month-long Land Rover expedition in Patagonia.
