Studied graphic design in school, but decided on photography instead. Started out as a photojournalist and then got into more commercial work. Still shoots a lot of film, esp. 4x5 B&W. When not out working, he's riding his mountain bike (says South Africa has amazing trails).

Confession time—he used to be terrified of taking people's portraits. (Now he obviously loves it.) Hobbies include eating ice cream and pursuing the perfect steak. Lives in Grand Rapids with his lovely wife and their three daughters. We recently blogged about Brian's latest multimedia project.

Grew up in France, traveled a lot, and end up in Boston at 16 with her scientist parents. Attended Skidmore. Now lives in Brooklyn, where she maintains a backyard garden that she's quite proud of and sails a few times a year with her father. Just launched her revamped website last week.

Originally from Venezuela. Former semi-pro tennis player that went to college in Tennessee on a full sports scholarship. Used to shoot for AP and SIPA Press in Latin America when first starting out. Speaks English, Spanish, and some German. Loves hanging out with his young son.
