Growing up, he would come home to his artist mother painting nude models in the living room.
Majored in political science/prelaw before switching over to photography. Went to RISD then SFAI.
In the 80's, took a full-time photo job at a small start-up company, The Sharper Image.

Originally from East Germany. Parents never allowed him to use their expensive camera. Didn't
get his own until he was 19 (much to his dismay). Very into the dubstep and techno scene. Plays
ultimate frisbee and runs in Berlin parks as often as he can. Former assistant of Rüdiger Nehmzow.

Started out taking photos of his BMX friends doing tricks. Got published. Went to school to learn
more. Moved to NYC. Attended ICP. Brief stint as a studio assistant at Christie's Auction House.
Moved back to Cleveland a few years ago for the small city charm. Loves camping in the summer.

Shot his uncle’s wedding with a plastic camera at age 7. Went to business school for dad. His
oldest son took his Mac apart by age 9 and his daughter can roundhouse kick you in the face,
if necessary. Says family, faith, healthy eating, and working out sum him up pretty well.
